Heres a post about GPL that was in the pre regeutron blast forums
All this talk of retro grfx made me dig out Grand Prix Legends (Yes for win 95/98).
Was surprised to find that its been made compatible with a lot of peripherals not available on release.
After installing and a reboot, run the Allinone installer to patch it up to date (tracks ,cars, sounds etc) and reboot
Then get gpl Rasthack to change the rez to your setup ( i had to use open gl to run triple head @ 3072x768 )
To get the right aspect you need Foved (FOVed) to set the fov to 180 (tho you wont see all of this).
For track-ir support (and stickshifts including G25,ACT LABS™: RS Shifter etc) you need GPLshift (GPLshift)
Just thought i'd share this video ( My Youtube demo ) of what its like to run 3 screens with track-ir support
Shows an outlap (a slow one) of old spa leaning into the bends and generally looking around.
Of particular note is spotting the nose of the car, usually on the left as it wasnt easy trying to do a lap with a digital camera elastic banded to my face.
Some screenshots of the difference from 1 screen to 3 can be seen here widescreengamingforum
This game is still to date one of the best racing sims I own, as these cars have no wings, bad tyres and virtually no brakes !
I dont really think its a simulation unless youre sat in the cockpit and looking using a headtracker, but i'll agree, being sat on the bonnet is much easier to drive.
A free demo can be downladed here GPL Demo
