I've had this issue on my sisters laptop recently. I can't remember off hand how it was fixed, but seem to remember it taking around an hour or so.

I'll look at finding the solution when I can (hopefuly within a couple of hours).

Good luck :S

Ok, this isn't the same method that i used, but there is a you tube video that gives you a talk through on removing the virus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiQVpBpdTwU

There is also a link http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-r ... -2008-2009 which is very similar in method.

If you google for the exact name of that program as it pops up, there should be a removal guide buried somewhere in there.

ok, going well so far.My buddie has managed to remove his hard drive, start it up in his friends, and remove the files he wanted with total success! Although he's not attempted to restart it in his own yet(a little fear factor going on there i think).
He's just really happy he's got his photos etc off it. He says to pass on his thanks, so thanks all :wnworthy: :wnworthy: :wnworthy: :D

Nice one! Just format the drive, re-install Windows and then copy the photos etc back again - Job done!
