Seeing as the problem wasn't my PSU, thought I might as well keep the new one and sell on the perfectly functioning "old" one.

I thought that at first, but it cuts even when I've had it off for a day or two.
It cuts sometimes during the boot-up, when it couldn't be hot at all if it's only just turned on

I refomatted the HDD too, but no use.
I can't think what triggered it, there were no hardware or software changes

There's no relation to what i'm doing - I can be playing games or leaving it idle, the power will just cut randomly. It usually happens between 30 seconds to 20 minutes, sometime after a few hours, sometime before it even passes the BIOS screen. I checked the cables, plugs and connections inside and...

I bust my shoulder at just the wrong time last semester for coursework/exams so I have to retake everything over summer, when I was hoping to get some work experience. At the moment I'm trying to physio alongside both semesters at once to free up my summer, which isn't leaving much time for anything...
